Top 10 Baby Names

A recent survey of the most popular baby names by the babycentre.co.uk revealed that traditional names linked to the Royal family, have become less popular in the run up to, and after the naming of Prince George.

The latest top 10 baby names results indicate that within 4 weeks of Prince George’s birth, the popularity of George as a name dropped from 9th place, to number 13, representing a 20 per cent drop.

It was not just the name George that saw a drop in baby name popularity either, both William and Kate also lost ground on parent’s fears of being copy cats in the baby naming game, and even Harry took a 31 per cent tumble from previous years, but still remains within the top 5 boy baby names.

Even with the most popular baby names top 10 changing yet again this year, lullaby-babies still have ALL the top 10 baby boys and girls names available on MP3 download for just £5, along with hundreds of others to choose from. See our personalised lullaby page for more details.

And if it wasn’t bad enough for our poor old Royals names becoming less popular in this years top 10 baby names list, they appear to have lost out to an increasing number of parents who must be watching too much Downton Abbey, with baby names such as Violet, Ivy, and Rose shooting up the rankings.

Would you deliberately NOT choose one of the top 10 baby names for your own baby, just because it is popular?
